ABOUT US

At Living Word Church, our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. What people usually notice first about us is the life-giving nature of our ministry. Our goal is to infuse life and God’s love into people and families through engaging, powerful worship services that offer biblical truth in relevant and practical ways.

But it won’t take you long to discover that we’re more than just a Sunday church. We desire that no one ever feels like just a face in the crowd. Because of that, we offer several small groups, which we call Life Groups throughout the year. If you’d like to develop authentic and enduring relationships with others, you’ll be glad to know there are several opportunities to join a Life Group.

 

So whether you’re a spiritual seeker who’s just starting to ask questions about God, or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at Living Word Church.

Living Word Church exists to create an environment that:

Allows you to discover and develop what you were always meant to be by Father God.

Addresses any residual from your past that limits or minimizes your God-intended potential.

Equips you to explore and express through your life’s vocation and ministry what the Father’s original intent has always been as you serve others.

OUR VISION

At the inception God gave our Senior Pastor Joel Sadaphal a simple word phrase that was to be the reason Living Word Church was to exist – “build big people”. Simply put, “big people” are those who know who they are, serve through that identity and glorify the Father in the process.

OUR VALUES

We highly value our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship, and ultimately growing closer to God. We value the word of God, and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken, and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.

OUR HISTORY

SMALL BEGINNINGS

  1. Founded in 1993 by Pastor Joel and Mary Sadaphal, with a small group of about 18 family and friends
  2. Blessed within first week with the opportunity to use the Travel Lodge Hotel at JFK International Airport for first 5 months
  3. October of 1993 we were miraculously granted the use of a facility in Ozone Park Queens
  4. Moved into current location in East Meadow July 2023
  5. God is at work at Living Word Church and we invite you to see for yourself

Lead Pastor

Pastor Ken and his wife founded out church years ago. He has a Kingdom perspective that is coupled with a compelling desire to see city and regional transformation. Declaring that “the Kingdom of Father not only comes to lives but is to be transmitted through lives,” Pastor Joel believes that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.

Children's Ministry Leader

MaryAnne loves being around and ministering to children and has done so for the past 36 years. She’s passionate about having children exposed to God’s Love and Word and works to creatively communicate Biblical truths to every child through the Children’s Ministry staff and programs.
